Minehead is located in the picturesque county of Somerset on the north coast between Exmoor and harbour.jpgharbouratnight.jpgthe sea. The historical harbour area has an original stone pier where it is still possible to take Bristol Channel cruises and embark on local fishing trips. The town centre is a short walk from the Butlins resort and within the older parts of town you can still see authentic thatched cottages and narrow alleyways. Blenheim Gardens is a lovely park located in the town that hosts concerts during the summer months on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and is well worth a visit. The surrounding countryside is some of the most beautiful in the UK and the South West Coast Path starts on the seafront and follows the coast round to Lands End in Cornwall and as far as Poole harbour in Dorset. Minehead has become a popular tourist attraction with its town centre hosting a number of retail shops, bars and restaurants. There is a wide range of entertainment and sporting facilities in the area including a cinema, leisure centre and many top quality golf courses. On the quieter side you can take walks from the town into the Exmoor countryside where amazing views, red deer and shaggy ponies can be seen. Minehead is also very proud of the annual floral displays which are produced throughout the town and have even seen them winning the much coveted National Britain in Blooms award. A short drive inland from Minehead will take you to through the magnificent countryside of Exmoor with the many parks, museums and historical buildings. Everywhere you look around this beautiful county there any many photo opportunities to be had.

Minehead and West Somerset Golf course is the
second oldest club in Somerset. This course is a
challenge for even the experienced golfers with an
18 hole, 6153 yard, par 71 links play layout.

St Michael's church stands on North hill and
overlooks Minehead. Its avoided restoration
and such effigies remain very rare with this

great day out for both adults and children. Hold
a snake or creepy crawly in the tropical hall then
watch the puppet show and visit the exotic fish.

founded in the late 12th century. Located here are
Britain's finest standing Monk quarters with 15th
century paintings and medieval tiled flooring.
