Minehead is located in the picturesque county of Somerset on the north
coast between Exmoor and 
the sea. The historical harbour area has an original stone pier where it is still possible to take Bristol Channel cruises
and embark on local fishing trips. The town centre is a short walk from the Butlins resort and within the older parts of town
you can still see authentic thatched cottages and narrow alleyways. Blenheim Gardens is a lovely park located in the town
that hosts concerts during the summer months on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and is well worth a visit. The surrounding

much coveted National Britain in Blooms award. A short drive inland from Minehead will take you to through the magnificent

 Visit the beautiful sandy beach of Minehead and take a walk along the seafront enjoying the usual delights found by the sea.  Dramatically sited on a wooded hill, Dunster Castle boasts a medieval gatehouse and marvellous views of the surrounding countryside.  Minehead and West Somerset Golf course is the second oldest club in Somerset. This course is a challenge for even the experienced golfers with an 18 hole, 6153 yard, par 71 links play layout. |

 Visit the West Somerset Railway and see firsthand the heritage of the track and steam locomotives. Take the 20 mile steam journey and replay the nostalgic ride between historical stations.  St Michael's church stands on North hill and overlooks Minehead. Its avoided restoration and such effigies remain very rare with this being one of the best to date.  Tropiquaria Animal & Adventure Park is a great day out for both adults and children. Hold a snake or creepy crawly in the tropical hall then watch the puppet show and visit the exotic fish. |

 Cleeve Abbey is a well preserved Cistercian Abbey founded in the late 12th century. Located here are Britain's finest standing Monk quarters with 15th century paintings and medieval tiled flooring.  Dunster Water Mill is the West country's finest working mill built in 1680. Set in magnificent surroundings overlooking Exmoor national park and minutes from Dunster Castle.  Torre Cider Farm is a must place to visit for all you cider lovers. Setup over 20 years ago in a small valley with orchards and fruit trees visitors can sample the real traditional Somerset Scrumpy. |
